Beyond Emotion: The Mind's Role in Feeling

Emotion is a biological and automatic response triggered by the brain in reaction to a stimulus. It involves physiological changes (e.g., increased heart rate, sweating) and occurs whether or not we are consciously aware of it.

Feeling, is our conscious awareness and personal interpretation of an emotion. While emotions happen automatically, feelings arise when we register and make sense of them.

Differences:

Emotions are what the body experiences, while feelings are what the mind perceives.
